A party, start to finish
Most parties follow this shape. The useful bit is working out where the peak sits before the night starts, rather than halfway through it.
Delivery and setup
We arrive, position the speakers for the room rather than the corner they'll fit in, run and tape the cables, and test everything. Then we show you how to work it, or stay on the desk if you have booked an engineer.
Playlist at talking level
The first hour wants music that fills the silence without making people shout. Get this wrong and the room stays awkward for far too long. We set it, and you can adjust it from your phone.
One microphone, working first time
Somebody will make a speech, and it usually happens without much warning. A microphone that's already on and already at the right level turns that into a nice moment instead of a minute of feedback.
A pause, then straight back
Music down, everyone sings, music back up. Small thing, but it's the difference between a smooth evening and somebody hunting for a volume knob.
Subwoofer on, full system
The point the whole rig has been sized for. This is where a system with headroom left pays off: it gets loud without getting harsh, and it stays clean for two hours rather than twenty minutes.
Landing on the curfew
We plan backwards from your venue's cut-off so the night ends on a high rather than being wound down. If there's a sound limiter fitted we'll already have set up under it.
Same night or next morning
Whichever suits your venue. Nearby, a same-night collection is straightforward. Further out, a morning pickup is usually easier for everybody.
Getting the size right
The most common mistake with party sound is hiring on price alone and ending up with either too little system or far too much. Too little and the music turns thin and harsh as soon as someone turns it up. Too much and you have paid for capacity that never gets used.
So we ask about the room before we quote: how many people, what the floor and ceiling are made of, whether there's a bar and where it is, and what time you have to stop. Then we bring the rig that fits. It's a five minute conversation that makes a noticeable difference on the night.

What people ask us
How big a system do we need for a hall of 100 people?
For around a hundred guests in a typical hall we'd bring two speakers on stands plus a subwoofer and a small desk. That's enough to fill the room properly and still have headroom left, which matters more than raw size. A system running at half its capacity sounds cleaner than one running flat out.
Can we plug our own phone or laptop in?
Yes, and most people do. Bring the phone, tablet or laptop you have your playlist on and we'll connect it and show you how to use it before we leave. If you'd rather not think about it at all, an engineer on the desk is an option.
Our venue says we have to stop at 11pm. Is that a problem?
No, it's normal, and knowing it in advance is what makes the evening work. We plan the night around the cut-off so the last hour is the good part rather than the point where somebody starts turning things down. Tell us the time and whether there's a sound limiter on the wall.
Do you do smaller parties at home?
Yes. A house party or a garden do needs a much smaller rig than a hall, and we'd rather bring the right one than oversell you. Tell us the space and the numbers and we'll suggest what actually fits.
