Guide figures only. Fareham has some of the best purpose-built community halls we work in, with real parking and level access. The coast is the variable: wind changes how an outdoor system has to be laid out.
Good halls, and a coastline to plan around
We cover Fareham town centre, Portchester, Titchfield, Stubbington, Hill Head, Locks Heath, Whiteley, Warsash and Wickham.
Fareham is unusually well served for community buildings, and it makes a real difference to the job. Titchfield Community Centre has a main hall along with smaller rooms, a bar, a commercial kitchen and parking. Portchester Community Centre is a modern building with five flexible halls, plenty of natural light and free parking. Crofton Community Centre in Stubbington covers the villages to the south. All of them have the things that make a setup go smoothly: somewhere to put the van, a level route to the room, and a power supply that was designed for the job.
The coast is the part that catches people out. Events at Hill Head, Warsash and along the Solent shore have to deal with wind, and wind is unkind to outdoor sound. It carries the high frequencies away, so the music turns muddy for your guests while getting louder for everybody down the beach. Turning the system up makes both problems worse. The answer is more speakers, placed closer to people and set lower. That's a layout decision rather than a volume one, and it needs making before we arrive rather than during the first song.
The town centre also has Fareham Live, the theatre formerly known as Ferneham Hall, which runs its own technical setup. If your event is there you'll likely be working with their team, and we're happy to supply whatever they don't cover.

The Fareham questions
Do you cover the villages around Fareham?
Yes. Titchfield, Stubbington, Hill Head, Warsash, Locks Heath, Whiteley, Wickham and Portchester are all within our normal range, and several of them have the best community halls on this side of the county.
We're outdoors near the water. Does the wind matter?
More than most people expect. Along the shore at Hill Head and Warsash a steady breeze will carry the top end of the sound away from your guests and towards somebody else's garden, which is the worst of both outcomes. Outdoors we bring the speakers in closer, keep them lower and use more of them rather than turning two up, so the coverage holds when the wind picks up.
How early do you arrive in Fareham?
About two hours before doors. Fareham is half an hour from base along the M27, and the community centres here mostly have proper parking and level access, so the setup itself is straightforward. The extra time is for the drive and for a full sound check rather than a rushed one.
